DOVER -- Ridgewood High's boys' cross-country team took part in Saturday's Dover Invitational, placing 10th in the 10-school field.

The Ridgewood times in the small-school race were as follows : Travis Vickers (20:27); Dakota Crites (22:53); A.J. Allman (23:07); Jared Michael (25:25); Nathan Schwartz (26:16).

Western Reserve Academy captured the small-school team title with a low score of 45, while Strasburg's Luke Myers sped to the individual title in a time of 17:43.

Ridgewood did not have enough runners in the girls' race to qualify for a team score, but Jessica McCoun (24:09) and Taylor Danley (26:18) posted individual times.

Tuslaw took the team title with a low score of 33. The individual first place runner was Rachel Reolfi (21:30) from Canton Central Catholic.

PATASKALA -- Both Indian Valley cross-country teams posted impressive fourth place finishes in their respective Division II races at Saturday's prestigious McGowan Memorial Invitational hosted by Watkins Memorial High School.

Highlighting the day was the third place finish (out of 268 runners) in the D-II girls' race by Lady Brave Paige Saho, who toured the 5-K layout in 19:15.09.

Athens won the girls D-II team title with 100 points. The Lady Braves totaled 195. The rest of the Indian Valley girls scorers and times were : Shannon Regula (20:47.69); Tawney Ault (21:26.29); Celina Mayforth (21:58.49); Lauren Long (23:21.26).

Area power Sheridan captured the D-II boys' title with a low score of 79, far ahead of Indian Valley's 153. The Braves did receive a number of solid finishes, however. They were as follows : Trevor Ault (17:22.47); Evan Menafee (17:39.50); Cody Booth (17:49.63); Bailey McBeth (18:11.05); Mitchell Giffen (18:36.57).
