GNADENHUTTEN -- Indian Valley High picked up a win in golf action, in their quadrangular match against New Philadelphia and Tusky Central Catholic.

The Braves (166) narrowly out distanced runner-up New Philadelphia (170) by four strokes and TCC (185) rounded out the field. Indian Valley was led by medalist Mitchell Lehigh with a 36, followed by Shawn Mills with a 40. Jaden Hartzler and Jarrett Helter rounded out the scoring for the Braves with a 43 and 47, respectively.

DOVER -- The Indian Valley High girls' golf team struggled against New Philadelphia, dropping its dual match by a margin of 213-228 at Union Country Club Golf Course. The Lady Braves were paced by Kelli Carroll with a 46, followed by Amanda Jones who carded a 55. Kara Barger tallied a 63 and rounding out the scoring for IV was Amber Ruscin with a 64.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Ridgewood High dropped a 191-260 decision to visiting Strasburg High in girls Inter-Valley Conference golf action at River Greens Golf Course.

Ashleigh Rothacher of the Lady Tigers fired a 39 to claim medalist honors. Leading the Lady Generals (0-11, 0-3 IVC) was Samantha Wilson with a 57 followed by Amanda Matchett, 61, Kaitlyn Finton, 62 and Tyra Reed, 80.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Indian Valley High girls' golfers registered an easy 213-250 win over host Ridgewood High at River Greens. IV's Kelli Carroll carded a 40 to take medalist honors. Other Lady Brave scores included Amanda Jones (55), Amber Ruscin (57), Kara Barger (61) and Andrea Hamilton (70).

The Lady Generals were paced by a 49 from Samantha Wilson. Other Ridgewood (0-12) scores included Kaitlyn Finton (55), Amanda Matchett (64) and Tyra Reed (82).

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Visiting Sandy Valley scored a 171-199 win over host Newcomerstown High in IVC golf play at Hickory Flats.

Newcomerstown (1-8, 0-7 IVC) got a solid scores from Zach Gibson (41) and from Jared Brooks (47). Other Trojan scores looked like this : Brandan Tanksley (55), Bailey Guy (56), Codi Rothaacher (58), Tance Brandon (70). Pacing the guests (5-6, 3-4 IVC) and earning medalist honors was Joe Bartholomew, who fired a three-over par 39. The rest of the Sandy Valley scores were as follows : Alex Orlando (42), Bryce Offenberger (43), Aaron Janson (47), Tyler Kula (55), Riley Benson (66)

MASSILLON --Indian Valley High captured the Pac-7 Golf Tournament at The Legends Course, finishing with a 326 total for a seven-stroke victory.

CVCA was the runnere-up at 333 followed by Tusky Valley (335), Triway (357), Fairless (363), Manchester (366), Tuslaw (403) and Timken (490). Shawn Mills carded a 78 to lead the Braves, with Mitchell Lehigh right behind at 79. Jarrett Helter (83) and Jaden Hartzler (86) rounded out the IV scoring.

Lehigh shared "Player of the Year" honors with Jeff Britton of CVCA. Joining those two on PAC-7 first team were Mills of Indian Valley, Bowe Andrews of CVCA, Zach Matheny of Manchester and Tanner Johnson of Tusky Valley.

Hartzler and Helter earned second team berths along with Landon Thompson of Tusky Valley, Payton Ziegler of Timken, Sam Higl of Tusky Valley and Brenton Franks of Tuslaw.

Indian Valley's Aaron Hreha was named "Coach of the Year".

MINERVA -- Indian Valley finished 11th and Ridgewood was 16th in the Tri-County Girls Golf League Postseason Tournament at Great Trail Golf Course.

Canton Central Catholic captured the team title shooting a team 344 followed by Dover at 353, Louisville (362), Minerva (376), New Philadelphia (376), Garaway (378), Beaver Local (380), Carrollton (388), Marlington (404) and then Indian Valley with a 412 team total. Salem was 12th shooting a 421, followed by Claymont (433), Sandy Valley (437), Fairless (465) and Ridgewood with a 492 total.

Leading the Lady Generals was Samantha Wilson who carded a 93. Other scorers for Ridgewood were Kaitlyn Finton (110), Amanda Matchett (117) and Tyra Reed with a 169.

Wilson was named to the second team for the season in the South Division.

Medalist for the postseason tournament was Michelle Vlacovsky from Canton Central Catholic who shot a 75.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Dover golf team bested both Indian Valley and Claymont in a three-school match at River Greens.

Dover's team total of 153 was a dozen strokes clear of runner-up Indian Valley. Claymont's 168 was good for third.

Coagan Warther of Dover carved his way to medalist honors by firing a one-over par 37.

Shawn Mills and Mitchell Lehigh paced the Indian Valley (11-4) effort with matching 40s. Brett Rentsch added a 42 and teammate Jadan Hartzler completed the Braves' scoring with a 43.

SUGARCREEK -- Host Garaway captured the 2013 IVC golf title with a three-stroke win over runner-up Hiland at Willandale Golf Club.

The Pirates' Cooper Stutzman fired a 78 on the par-72 layout to capture medalist honors. The final team results showed the following : 1. Garaway (317), 2. Hiland (320), 3. Strasburg (353), 4. Ridgewood (361), 5t. Malvern (361), 5t. Tusky Catholic (372), 7. Sandy Valley (388), 8. Newcomerstown (410).

Ridgewood was paced by Nathan Hoffman's 93. The rest of the Generals carded the following numbers : Nick Blakley (86), Wesley Cochran (91), Brice Dennis (91), Brice Dennis (91), Sam Bucher (98), Jared Norman (112).

Newcomerstown was led by an 88 from Zach Gibson. The other Trojan scores looked like this : Jared Brooks (93), Brandan Tanksley (119), Codi Rothacher (112), Bailey Guy (117), Tance Brandon (136).

Thursday's league finale also produced the final IVL standings, with Garaway finishing first with 23 points. Runner-up Hiland came in with 19 points.
