WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Ridgewood High (10-0) volleyball team kept its perfect season intact with a lopsided 25-9, 25-18, 25-11 home floor win in Inter-Valley Conference play over Malvern.

Setter Erika Michael directed the offense with 33 assists and also had five digs.

Hitter Laura Frazee paced the net play with 14 kills. Amanda Lowry added seven kills and Allie Dobson added six more.

The leading digger was Morgan McDorman with 17, while teammate Cora Thompson added 10 digs.

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Despite defections by a few players and the coaching staff from last year's state runner-up program, visiting Tuscarawas Catholic showed few negative effects as they blasted host Newcomerstown, 25-9, 25-8, 25-16 in Inter-Valley Conference play.

"They are still so tall," bemoaned Trojan coach John Dupke, "and they do a good job of getting the ball to those tall hitters. We had no answers."

Lady Trojan Sara Miller did have a pair of ace serves and teammate Erin Burrier had two kills. Setter Alicia Moore added a half dozen assists and Alyson Rexroad was kept busy defensively, racking up 16 assists.

GNADENHUTTEN -- Host Indian Valley welcomed Ashley Reynolds back to the lineup and notched a 25-9, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21 PAC win over Tuslaw.

Showing few ill effects of the ankle injury which forced her to miss a few matches, Reynolds slammed a season-high 23 kills in the four set win. She also had 10 digs and a pair of solo blocks.

Setter Bailey Stull dished out 22 assists. Teammates Taylor Williams and Devin Bell added eight kills each. Stephanie Risher and Williams contributed 17 digs and 11 digs, respectively.

GNADENHUTTEN -- The Lady Braves pocketed their second home court PAC triumph of the week by thrashing Canton Timken on Thursday by scores of 25-13, 25-10, 25-11.

Indian Valley (5-8, 5-3 PAC) dominated the guests, prevailing in large part due to excessive errors by Timken. Lady Brave Stephanie Risher drilled 10 ace serves. Teammates Ashley Reynolds and Taylor Williams each recorded a half dozen kills, while Bailey Stull furnished a dozen assists.

BERLIN -- Remaining perfect on the year, the visiting Ridgewood Lady Generals rolled over the host Hiland Lady Hawks in three straight sets by scores of 25-14, 25-16 and 27-25 in Inter-Valley Conference play.

For Ridgewood (11-0) Cora Thompson led the offense with 16 points, while Laura Crawford and Laura Frazee each tallied nine points with Frazee serving up three aces. Erika Micheal handed out 28 assists.

Defensively, Crawford had 15 digs, Micheal 12, Frazee 11 and Thompson added seven. At the net, Crawford led the way with 12 kills with Frazee adding nine, Amanda Lowery seven and Allie Dobson tacked on six kills and five blocks.

Ridgewood also won the JV contest by scores of 25-11 and 25-19 to improve to 8-3 on the year. Autumn Brown had 10 points including six aces and Megan Sharier added seven points.

SUGARCREEK -- Visiting Newcomerstown High fell victim to Garaway in an Inter Valley Conference tilt, falling by scores of 25-13, 25-15, 25-17 on Thursday.

The play of Lady Trojan Karlee Peach was a highlight, as she provided four kills and 17 digs. Setter Alicia Moore dished out 10 assists and hitter Erin Burrier added five kills.

COSHOCTON -- Newcomerstown High suffered a pair of losses in a triangular, falling to Navarre Fairless and host Coshocton.

Newcomerstown dropped its first match of the afternoon to Fairless in three games by scores of 23-25, 25-3 and 25-17.

Leading the way for NHS were Erin Burrier with five kills and Sara Miller with five points while Karlee Peach paced the defense with 12 digs.

The struggles continued in the Lady Trojans' second game as they were beaten by Coshocton in straight sets by scores of 25-12, 25-14.

Alicia Moore led the way with seven points with three aces; Burrier smashed 4 kills and Peach once again led the defense with 15 digs.

The final match of the afternoon saw Fairless beat Coshocton in straight sets by scores of 25-11, 25-17.

NHS is now 2-12 on the season.
