NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Visiting Ridgewood High saw a long wining streak over Tuscarawas Central Catholic come to an end with an 8-2 loss in an Inter-Valley Conference football clash on a stormy Saturday night.

The host Saints scored a fourth-quarter touchdown to rally for the win over the Generals, it was the Saints' first win over the Orange and Black since 1992.

The contest was delayed by lightning for two hours and finally finished at 11 p.m.

Ridgewood (1-2, 3-3) led 2-0 on a safety before the game was halted by lightning with under two minutes left before halftime.

When play resumed, Central Catholic (1-2, 3-3) scored on a short touchdown run and added the two-point conversion for the 8-2 lead.

The Generals had a chance to take the lead, but an interception in the waning moments preserved the win.
