PICKERINGTON -- The Indian Valley High boys' team along with Paige Saho from the girls' team have advanced to the OHSAA State Cross Country Championships which will take place Saturday at National Trail Raceway in Hebron.

Indian Valley finished third as a team in the Division II boys' meet at Pickerington North High School with 153 points. They'll be joined as teams by regional champion Sheridan (66), runner-up West Holmes (107) and fourth place Unioto (157).

Freshman Trevor Ault led the Braves at the regional with an eighth place finish (16:57.54). Other IV runners included freshmanm Cody Booth (33rd, 17:37); senior Evan Menefee (35th, 17:39); sophomore Mitchell Giffen (42nd, 17:47); senior Bailey McBeth (72nd, 18:17); sophomore Collin Border (87th, 18:40); and freshman Brandon Leggett (108th, 19:23).

The Indian Valley girls settled for eighth place in the Division II team standings with 230 points. The teams advancing were champion Claymont (97), Dover (98), Athens (108) and Carollton (147).

Saho will represent the Lady Braves after finishing in fourth place overall (19:19.09). The rest of the IV times were freshman Shannon Regula (31st, 20:37); sophomore Tawney Ault (60th, 21:39); freshman Celina Mayforth (77th, 22:17); senior Emily Baker (96th, 23:14); junior Lauren Long (111th, 24:10); and freshman Alexis Pasquinelli (115th, 24:42).

Newcomerstown senior Nate Marinucci finished in 41st place in the Division III boys' race in 5:48.
