Indian Valley 52, Manchester 42

MANCHESTER -- Visiting Indian Valley High thrived in the first half and claimed a 52-42 over Manchester High on Monday night.

The Lady Braves started out strong to take a 19-12 advantage after one quarter of play and then used a 13-7 spot in the second round to carry a comfortable 32-19 lead into the halftime break.

Following the break, both teams scored 10 in the third stanza and Manchester out scored Indian Valley 13-10 in the final quarter but the Lady Braves pulled out the victory commanding victory.

It was Karissa Bardall carrying the scoring load for the Lady Braves with a game-high 15 points while Megan Baker also reached double-digit scoring with 10 points to go along with seven rebounds.

Pacing the Lady Greyhounds' offense was Jordan Campbell with a team-best 13 points while Alexis Thorn and Samantha VanScoy added eight counters each.

Indian Valley 57, Claymont 37

GNADENHUTTEN -- Host Indian Valley High governed the first three quarters and cruised to a 57-37 victory of Claymont High on Wednesday night.

After taking a commanding 18-8 in the first quarter, the Lady Braves cushioned their lead in second round with a 15-11 scoring edge and carried a comfortable 33-19 lead into the halftime intermission.

Much like the first two quarters, Indian Valley stayed completely in control in the third period with a 13-5 scoring advantage.

The Lady Mustangs outscored the Lady Braves 13-11 in the final eight minutes but it was not nearly enough to dig themselves out of the large hole they already created and they dropped the non-conference affair.

Kitanna Rakestraw earned game-high scoring honors with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Megan Baker recorded 12 tallies and seven boards.

Leading the way for the Lady Mustangs was Destinee Barber with a team-best 14 points followed by Milana Harman with 10 and McKenzie Herron with eight counters in the losing effort.
