Ridgewood 11, Malvern 0

MALVERN -- Visiting Ridgewood High continued its stellar Inter-Valley Conference play with an 11-0 rout over Malvern on Monday.

With the win, the Lady Generals improved to 8-5 overall and 5-2 in the IVC while the Lady Hornets fell to 3-7 overall and 0-5 in the IVC.

"We played real well again today," said Ridgewood coach Kirby Shivers. "We didn't commit an error, we had a good pitching and we hit the ball, when you do all of those things you are going to win some ball games but we have some tough league games coming up so we are focusing on those now."

Ridgewood tallied five runs in the first frame and never looked back claiming the IVC win.

Sydney Zinkon (8-5) tossed a one-hitter for the Lady Generals and earned the win and struck out five in six innings of work.

Autumn Brown paced the Ridgewood offense with a double, two singles and a game-high 5 RBIs while Sadie Wilson and Zinkon added a pair of singles and Hailey Harris chipped in with a double and two RBI.

Newcomerstown 6, Malvern 1

MALVERN -- Visiting Newcomerstown High used a big seventh inning to pick up its first Inter-Valley Conference win in a 6-1 decision over Malvern on Tuesday.

The teams entered the seventh inning tied at 1-1, but the Lady Trojans tallied five runs in the top of the inning to claim the victory.

Raegan Smith hurled a gem for the Lady Trojans fanning five in a complete-game effort while Paige Elder suffered the loss in the circle for the Lady Hornets with five Ks and one free pass in seven innings of work.

Paving the way for the Newcomerstown (3-10, 1-6 IVC) offense was Rachel Hinton with three singles while Maddie Fish added an RBI double.

Leading the way for the Lady Hornets' offense was Elder and Caitlyn Wade with a base hit each.

Sandy Valley 11, Newcomerstown 1

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Visiting Sandy Valley capitalized on nine errors by the host and scored in every inning en route to a 11-1 Inter-Valley Conference win over the host Newcomerstown Lady Trojans Wedneday.

Makayla Loveless garnered the pitching win striking out eight and walking none. Gabby McPeek suffered the loss with relief help from Raegan Smith with the duo combining for no strikeouts and two walks.

The Lady Cardinals collected 11 hits paced by Kayla Campbell with a home run, while Montana Boyer added a double and single. Meggie Otte, Isabelle Hysong and Loveless chipped in with two singles each. Newcomerstown (2-11, 0-7 IVC) had four hits led by Rachel Hinton with a double and single.

Ridgewood 10, Hiland 0

BERLIN -- It was yet another Inter-Valley Conference victory for Ridgewood High on Thursday with a 10-0 rout over host Hiland High in softball action.

The Lady Generals tallied seven runs in the third inning to run away with the win.

Sydney Zinkon tossed another complete-game shutout for Ridgewood (9-5, 6-2 IVC) with five strikeouts and a walk in five innings of work.

Morgan Mattis led the way for the Lady Generals with a triple, single and a game-high three RBI followed by Autumn Brown with a double and a single, Zinkon added two doubles and two RBI and Audrey Tingle chipped in with a pair of safeties and stolen bases.

Strasburg 5, Newcomerstown 0

STRASBURG --Visiting Newcomerstown High continued to struggle in Inter-Valley Conference play in a 5-0 shutout loss to Strasburg on Thursday.

Gabby McPeek suffered the loss for the Lady Trojans (3-11, 1-6 IVC) while Zoey Thomas earned the win for the Lady Tigers (9-4, 6-4, IVC) with six Ks in five innings of work.

Maddie Fish, Kayla Gibson, Rachel Hinton and Raegan Smith all singled for Newcomerstown while Taeshawna Alleshouse belted a solo home run and a pair of singles for Strasburg.

Newcomerstown 2, East Canton 1

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Host Newcomerstown High picked up an Inter-Valley Conference victory in walk-off fashion on Friday with a 2-1 victory over East Canton.

The teams entered the home half of the seventh inning deadlocked at 1-1, but the Lady Trojans were able to plate the game-winning run after Caitlin Durr reached on a single; stole her way to third base and scored on a Cassandra Fries fielder's choice RBI.

Raegan Smith tossed a gem for Newcomerstown (4-12, 2-7 IVC), fanning seven Lady Hornets while only walking two in the complete-game effort while Madison Harris took the loss in the circle for East Canton with four Ks and one walk.

Durr paced the Lady Trojans' offense with a single and an RBI while Harris collected a base hit and scored the lone run for the Lady Hornets (7-7, 4-5 IVC).
