SUGARCREEK -- State-ranked Garaway High picked up a 11-6 win over visiting Ridgewood High in Inter-Valley Conference softball action on Monday.
With the home victory the Lady Pirates improve to a sparkling 20-2 overall record and 12-1 in the IVC, while the Lady Generals slip to 12-10 overall and 9-4 in IVC play.
Sydney Zinkon took the pitching loss for RHS, finishing with one strikeout and two walks.
Rachel Simpson and Kailee Harris paced the Lady Generals with a double and single, while Morgan Matis and Autumn Brown each collected a pair of base hits.
Garaway was led by Chelsi Rothacher who belted two solo home runs, with Zoe Johnson finishing a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run, a pair of doubles with three RBIs.

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Host Newcomerstown High downed Hiland High, 5-2, in Inter-Valley Conference softball action on Wednesday.
The Lady Hawks jumped ahead right away with two runs in the first, but the Lady Trojans retaliated with a trio of runs in the home half of the second and sealed the deal in the sixth plating two more runners.
Rachel Hinton and Raegan Smith split time in the circle for Newcomerstown (6-15, 4-9 IVC) combining for five strikeouts and six walks with Smith earning the win. Nikki Keim took the loss for Hiland with three walks in a complete-game effort.
Hinton and Deserae Harbold collected the lone hits for Newcomerstown with Maddie Fish adding two RBI.
Lexy Kline, Ashley Weaver and Hailey Schrock were the only Lady Hawks to record a base hit.
