OVAC Hall of Fame Tickets on Sale

Tickets for the 2017 OVAC Hall of Fame Banquet slated Saturday, Aug. 19 at WesBanco Area in Wheeling, WV are currently on sale. Tickets are $30 each or $240 for a table of eight. There will be no tickets sold at the door. To order tickets, call the OVAC office at 740-391-2930.

Cambridge Volleyball Conditioning

The Cambridge High volleyball team will have conditioning the rest of this week (Tuesday-Friday) from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the high school. Please bring tennis shoes. Mandatory practice/tryouts start Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 4 pm. Tryouts are August 1-3. If you are interested in playing volleyball, please attend the first day. Cambridge Middle School conditioning will be each day this week from 9-11 a.m., with tryouts on Aug. 1 from 2-4 p.m. at CMS.

Meadowbrook MS Volleyball Coach

Players Needed for ZDGA Amateur

Players are needed for the Zanesville District Golf Association Amateur and Mid-Amateur tournaments, set for Aug. 5-6 and Aug. 12 at EagleSticks, The Virtues and Zanesville Country Club. Round 1 of the 54-hole stroke play events will be played EagleSticks on Aug. 5, Round 2 at the The Virtues on Aug. 6 and the final round on Aug. 12 at Zanesville Country Club. The top 24 scores and ties after two rounds will advanced to ZCC. Interested players must have a verified handicap of 10 or less, and must be a resident or have graduated from a high school in Muskingum, Perry, Morgan, Guernsey, Coshocton, Licking or Noble counties. The cost is $110, which also includes a tee gift. Entry forms can be found at any area golf course or by visiting www.zdga.org. Checks with entry form should be mailed to ZDGA, P.O. Box 2453, Zanesville, 43702; players may also pay via PayPal on the website. The deadline to entry is July 28.

Crystal Springs Junior Golf Tournament

The Crystal Springs Junior Golf Tournament will take place Tuesday, July 25 at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Hopedale. There are four divisions - boys 16-18, girls 13-18, boys 13-15 (18 holes) and boys/girls 9-12 (9 holes). The cost is $25 for the 18-hole events and $20 for the nine-hole event which includes golf, food and drinks. The entry deadline is July 20. Barnesville Wiffle Ball Tournament

Barnesville baseball is sponsoring a wiffle ball tournament on Saturday, July 29 at the Barnesville Moose Field at 9 a.m. There will be a concession stand and 50/50 drawing. The entry fee for the five-man team tournament is $100. If there are enough teams there will be two age divisions. Meadowbrook Cheerleaders Car Wash

The Meadowbrook cheerleaders will have a pair of car wash fundraisers on Saturday, July 29. One will be at Meadowbrook Tire in Byesville and the other at Akrom Auto in Cambridge. Both events will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cambridge Youth Soccer Camp

The Cambridge Youth Soccer Camp will take place July 31, August 1-2 at the soccer field across from North Elementary in Cambridge. There are two age groups - 5-9 and 10-14. The cost is $25, with all proceeds going to the Cambridge boys' soccer team. Participants should bring a soccer ball, cleats, guards and water. Belmont Hills Junior Golf Tournament

The Belmont Hills Country Club Junior Golf Tournament will take place at Belmont Hills Country Club in St. Clairsville on Monday, July 31 with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee (payable by July 18 to the Barnesville Golf Parents is $30. Lunch will be provided for all tournament participants and available for purchase to all spectators. Age divisions include girls 13-15 and 16-18 and boys 13-14, 15-16 and 17-18, with awards to the top three finishers in each division. Meadowbrook High Golf Practice

The 2017 Meadowbrook High golf team will begin practice on Tuesday, Aug. 1 at Salt Fork State Park Golf Course at 9 a.m. Any Meadowbrook student is invited to participate. John Glenn All Sport/Season Passes

John Glenn High School all sport and season passes will be on sale beginning Monday, Aug. 7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily at the high school. All sport passes are $75 for adults and $50 for students; football season passes are $25 for adults and $15 for students; and soccer season passes are $30 for adults and $15 for students. Gold cards are available to those 65-over who live in the East Muskingum School District. Passes will also be on sale at the "Meet the Team Night" on Aug. 19.

Muskie Chix Softball Tryouts

Muskie Chix Fastpitch Softball will hold tryouts Saturday, Aug. 12 at John Glenn High School. Tryouts for 10U will be from 9-11 a.m.; 12U from 11:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m.; 14U from 1:30-3:30 p.m.; and 16U and 18U from 4-6 p.m. Plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled time to complete registration. Barnesville Football Player Canvass

The Barnesville High School and Junior High football teams will be canvassing the community on Monday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m., going door-to-door in their game jerseys selling Booster Club membership cards. The $3 donation will include a $200 cash drawing at halftime of the Friday, Oct. 20 home game against Caldwell (winner need not be present). The card will also allow free admission to the varsity boys' basketball game against Bridgeport on Feb. 2, 2018. Cambridge Athletic HOF Induction

The Cambridge City Schools Athletic Hall of Fame charter class will be recognized on Thursday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. in the Cambridge High School cafeteria. The event will begin with a dinner, with the inductions to follow. Tickets for the event are $15 per person or $200 for a table of eight. Muskingum Basketball Skills Clinic

The Muskingum University men's basketball team will be hosting an exciting fall basketball skills clinic on Sunday, Sept. 17 from 1-4 p.m. in the Anne C. Steele Center. The Skills Clinic is open to boys and girls grades K-8. The clinic will focus on instructing the fundamental skills of the game of basketball and will include many skill competitions and game opportunities. All skill levels are encouraged to attend. The clinic cost is $30 per child and additional children from the same the household will cost $20. Every child attending the clinic will receive coaching from the Muskingum men's basketball staff and players as well as a Muskingum basketball T-shirt.
