ZOARVILLE Camp Tuscazoar will host its first ever Tuscazoar Adventure Race on Saturday, Aug. 19 at the camp.
A rugged adventure awaits in this action-packed race! The race will include running, paddling and mountain biking as you navigate your way around Camp Tuscazoar, the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail, and the Tuscarawas River.
The race will begin at 9 a.m. at the camp. Participants will run about six miles for the first leg, paddle four miles on the Tuscarawas River for the second leg, and will mountain bike seven miles to complete the race. Participants can register at: https://registration.verticalrunnerrm.com/events/tuscazoar-adventure-race-01132017129. For questions regarding the race or to volunteer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The race will be limited to the first 100 registrants so don't delay in registering yourself! In conjunction with the race event, the Kent State University Lions Club will offer a Spaghetti dinner on Friday, Aug. 18 from 5-8 p.m. in Kimble Hall at Camp Tuscazoar. The dinner is $6 per person and is open to the public and offers a great way to support the Lions Club and Camp Tuscazoar.
Also, beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday in Camp Tuscazoar's Hoover Lodge amphitheater, the Kodachrome Babies will perform their music. The Kodachrome Babies are a sister duo from Dover/New Philadelphia who formed in 2010. Their modern-day take on the 1950s girl group sound is sure to make you smile. Audiences love their upbeat covers and original tunes that feature their guitar/ukulele combo and harmonies only sisters can create.
The Camp Tuscazoar Foundation, Inc. is an Ohio non-profit corporation founded in 1986 for the purpose of purchasing, maintaining and perpetuating Camp Tuscazoar for use by scouts, church groups, school groups and other community youth organizations. Camp Tuscazoar is located on Tuscarawas County Road 83, two miles east of Zoar, near Zoarville.
