SUGARCREEK -- The Ridgewood girls' golf team participated in the IVC pre-season tournament at Willandale Golf Club on Monday.
The Lady Generals posted a team score of 415 which was good enough for fifth place. Garaway won the tournament with a 320 followed by Tusky Valley (383), Indian Valley (392), Strasburg (397), Ridgewood (415), Sandy Valley (460) and Claymont (467).
Sadie Wilson and Lexi Zimmer led the way for Ridgewood with a pair of 90's followed by Brianna Brady (115), Hallie Reed (120) and Sydney Matis (122).

WEST LAFAYETTE -- The John Glenn High girls' golf team finished third in a triangular match with Ridgewood and Tri-Valley at River Greens Golf Course on Wednesday.
Ridgewood won the match with a 212-stroke total, three better than Tri-Valley's 215. John Glenn was third at 225.
Mackenzie Garber led the Lady Muskies with a 53 followed by Kaelee Dingey at 54; Sydney Johnson at 55 and Paige German with 63.
Ridgewood's Sadie Wilson carded a 42 followed by Lexi Zimmer (51), Brianna Brady (56), Hallie Reed (63) and Sydney Matis (63).
For Tri-Valley, Alyssa Shawger was the match medalist with a 40 while other Lady Scottie scores included Lanie Welker (51), Katie Shawger (55) and Kelsie Clark (69).

NEW PHILADELPHIA --John Glenn High was in the running for the team title in the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints Invitational at Union Country Club on Wednesday.
When the action on the links ended, however, the Muskies settled for a solid third place showing with a team score of 329. Strasburg emerged with the victory with a score of 313, with Hiland snaring the runner-up slot with 324. Newcomerstown also took part in the event and placed 13th with a score of 412.
Dylan Tucker of the Tigers captured medalist honors with a round of 75, followed by Sandy Valley's Logan Leichtamer with 77.
JG was paced by Chase Karling with 79, followed by Derek Graham (82), Carson Bennett (84),Bo Orecchio (84), and Jack Williams (88).
Newcomerstown was led by the efforts of Kaden Shepherd with 101, along with Brandon Cutshall (102),Thurman Gibson (103) and Chase Arnold (106).

MALVERN -- Visiting Newcomerstown High opened up Inter-Valley Conference golf action with a road win over Malvern at Great Trails Golf Course on Thursday afternoon.
The Trojans finished at 180 to outdistance the host Hornets with 240.
Kaden Shepherd claimed medalist honors with 42 to pace the Trojans victory. Other NHS scores included Thurman Gibson (43), Levi Kilpatrick (47), Chase Arnold (48) and Brandon Cutshall (50).
Malvern was led by John Browning with 50 and Max Earl with 53.
