MILLERSBURG -- Visiting Indian Valley High took care of West Holmes High in three sets to pick up a non-league victory in prep volleyball action on Tuesday.

All three sets were competitive as the Lady Braves just slipped past the Lady Knights 25-22 in the first two sets and concluded the match with a more convincing 25-19 victory in the third set.

Kitanna Rakestraw paced the Indian Valley offense with 20 service points and 11 kills followed by Kiarra Rakestraw with 16 kills and Raegan Love with seven points and 22 assists.

Defensively, Payton Guspyt led the team with 11 digs while Kitanna Rakestraw had five blocks and five digs and Kiarra Rakestraw added four blocks and three digs in the win.

Following the victory, the Lady Braves improved to a perfect 2-0 on the young season.

BOWERSTON -- Visiting Newcomerstown High made quick work of Conotton Valley High with a three-set sweep in Inter-Valley Conference volleyball action on Tuesday evening. The Lady Trojans posted 25-15, 25-8 and 25-18 wins to down the Lady Rockets and pick up an IVC victory.

Maddie Fish did some damage behind the service line with a team-high 20 points and eight aces while Leah Kellish added 18 points and four aces.

Elizabeth Landis chipped in recording 12 points, five aces and a team-best 22 assists with Madison Shisler leading the team with nine kills and eight digs.

DRESDEN -- Ridgewood High stayed perfect on the young season topping host Tri-Valley by scores of 25-9, 25-20, 26-28 and 25-19 in non-league volleyball action on Tuesday.

Cassie Mladek paced the Lady Generals (2-0) with 17 kills, 20 digs, and 13 points with Zayvia Stanton chipping in with 15 points, seven aces, and four blocks. Abbey Kellish contributed 10 kills with 11 digs and Zayvia Stanton added 15 points, seven aces, and four blocks.

Rounding out the RHS attack was Jaelyn McGee with seven blocks and three kills; Aleeah Cabot finished with seven points, two aces; and Morgan Matis tallied 10 blocks.

GNADENHUTTEN -- Indian Valley rolled past East Canton by scores of 25-10, 25-10 and 25-12 in Inter-Valley Conference volleyball action on Thursday.

With the victory the Lady Braves improve to 1-0 in IVC play and 3-0 overall.

KiTanna Rakestraw racked up 14 points, 13 kills, two blocks and two digs to pace the IV effort, while Reagan Love added 12 points, 21 assists and Brenlynn Rostad finished with six points, seven digs and Kiarra Rakestraw contributed 10 kills, two blocks and six digs.

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Tusky Valley came calling on Thursday and left with a victory over Ridgewood High by scores of 25-17, 25-10 and 25-10.

With the home court setback RHS slips to 2-1 on the young season.

Abbey Kellish tallied 16 digs, six kills, six points (3 aces) to lead the Lady Generals with Cassie Mladek adding three kills, two points, and Carly Griffith collected kills and Rylee Young five digs.

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- In Inter-Valley Conference volleyball action on Thursday, host Newcomerstown suffered a four-set loss to Strasburg. The Lady Trojans claimed the first set 25-20, but then dropped the next three by scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-21.

Leah Kellish banged out 11 kills, with 10 digs to lead NHS, while Madison Shisler chipped in with 11 kills and Sydni Zufelt added seven digs for the Lady Trojans.

WARSAW -- Ridgewood High's volleyball squad suffered a road loss at River View on Saturday by scores of 25-18, 25-27, 25-20 and 25-19 to drop to the .500 mark.

With the loss the Lady Generals record slips to 2-2 on the young season.

Cassie Mladek enjoyed a busy day for RHS with 20 points, 13 kills, 17 digs, and three blocks, while Sydney Zinkon added 23 points (2 aces) and 16 assists with Morgan Matis racking up eight kills with four blocks. Zayvia Stanton contributed 13 points with three blocks, Abbey Kellish tallied 10 digs and four kills, Rylee Young chipped in with 12 digs and Carly Griffith added 10 digs for the Lady Generals.

UHRICHSVILLE -- Indian Valley remained unbeaten with a three set sweep of Inter-Valley Conference foe Claymont Saturday evening by scores of 26-24, 25-9 and 25-21.

With the win the Lady Braves improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in IVC action.

Payton Guspyt paced the offense with 12 points and one assist, while Gaby Miles added seven points and 16 assists.

Guspyt also paced the defense with 21 digs with Miles adding six and Kiara Rakestraw two.

At the net, Kayla Tschudy slammed nine kills to go with two blocks and Rakestraw hammered eight kills with three blocks.
