Marie Ruth Aue, 85, Newcomerstown, formerly of Akron and Cibolo (San Antonio), Texas, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Monday evening, Feb. 23, in her Newcomerstown residence.

Marie was born in Canton on April 1, 1923, the daughter of the late Harvey W. and Agnes V. Malone Neiswonger.

She was a graduate of Akron Central High School and then went on to attend the Naval Nurse's Academy. After schooling, her path took her to provide comfort and care at the Massillon State Hospital, People's Hospital and several retirement homes. Later, she served as a secretary for Manchester High School and a librarian's assistant. She was also the owner and operator of a group of beauty salons and was a dispatcher for the Beverly police department. Marie had many interests which included square dancing, participating in Eastern Star organizations (past Matron of the Beverly chapter), sewing and a love for reading. But her proudest accomplishment was her home and family.

Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Charles Robert "Bob" Aue, Newcomerstown. Also surviving is a son, Charles Robert (Sandra K.) Aue II of High Point, N.C.; a daughter, Veronica A. (Harvey D.) Hansen of Cibolo, Texas; eight grandchildren, AnnMarie Maddox and Dorothy Marie Ayres, both of Newcomerstown, Theresa Lynn Mims of Comanche, Texas, Nanci Jean McAvinew of Cibolo, Texas, Donald Eugene Holman of Marion, Texas, Ronald Charles Holman of Michigan, and Charles Robert "Rob" Aue III and Karen Louise Aue, both of High Point, N.C.; 13 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, "Precious," complete the family.

Do not weep, I do not sleep

I am the thousand winds that blow

I am the diamond glints on snow

I am the gentle autumn's rain

I am the soft star that shines at night

Do not cry I did not die.

To honor Marie's wishes, her remains are to be cremated. No public visiting hours will be observed. Private services will be arranged at the convenience of the family. The family is requesting that memorials to made in Marie's name to the Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. Third St., Dover, OH 44622. The Ourant Funeral Home is assisting the family with all arrangements.
