COLUMBUS -- The 2008-09 Associated Press East All-District basketball teams for Division III were released last week. Selections are based on the recommendations of a media panel.

Newcomerstown's Chase Addy was chosen for second team honors. The 6-1 senior averaged 16.2 points a game to lead the Trojans. Picking up third team status were 6-3 senior Jared Kreitzer of Ridgewood and 6-1 senior Jordan Frey of Indian Valley. Kreitzer averaged 13.2 points per game while Frey finished with 13.0.

Honorable mention went to 5-11 senior J.C. Rine of Newcomerstown, 6-0 sophomore Thomas Ellis of Ridgewood, and 6-2 senior Randson Burdette of Indian Valley.

Players of the year for Division III was Sandy Valley's Jordan Tozzi, Union Local's Joby Barr, and Shenandoah's Cody Johnson. Coaches of the year were Ben Porter (Union Local) and Dan Liedtke (Fort Frye).

In the girl's division, Newcomerstown's Steph Felton earned second team accolades. Felton, a 5-8 sophomore, averaged 10 points a game for the Trojans.

Earning honorable mention were three Ridgewood players, including senior Ashley Patterson along with juniors Courtney Babcock and Maggie Nagle.

Players of the year were Monroe Central's Aleisha Guiler and Ginny Petties of Steubenville Catholic Central. Troy Baker of Monroe Central was coach of the year.
