MASSILLON -- Tuslaw broke open a scoreless game with 26 points in the second quarter en route to a 46-20 win over Indian Valley on Friday in the Principals Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
The Mustang's Mason Miller scored on runs of 28 and 61 yards to go up 14-0. Quarterback Justin Erfurth followed with two TD dives from one-yard out to make it 26-0 by halftime.
After a Miller 10-yard scoring run in the third quarter, the Braves finally got on the board when Holden Fellers hauled in a 29-yard strike from Kyle Lehigh.
Both teams traded two touchdowns in the final frame. Tuslaw got a six yard run from Miller and a 55 yard pass from Erfurth to Dain Granistsas. The Braves countered with a 68 yard run from Dakota Sentz and a Lehigh to Kyle Johnson pass for six yards as time expired.
Miller totaled 139 yards on the ground for the Mustangs with four TDs. Erfurth was 7-of-10 for 112 yards, a TD, and an interception while Granistsas had two receptions for 67 yards.
For Indian Valley, Lehigh was 6-of-17 for 133 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. The Braves finished with 162 yards on the ground including 57 from Dusty Baker on six carries.
Indian Valley next hosts Timken on Friday. The Trojans are coming off a 7-6 loss to Fairless. Kickoff is at 7:00 pm.
