Newcomerstown Middle School sixth grade math students of Scott Thomas were assigned a project -- to draw a cornhole board to scale, which involved designing the artwork and they were to include a reflection, a rotation, a slide or a dilation. After students submitted their completed designs, a group of teachers decided on five finalists.
Mike Blate, owner of IPG Creative Media in North Canton and friend of Mr. Thomas, agreed to donate a set cornhole boards, screen printed with the winning design and a set of bags as well, to the NMS Accelerated Reader Auction, May 28.
Blake chose the design that he thought was best and easiest to computer generate onto a set of boards from the five finalists' entries.
The winning design was submitted by Collen Mozena and the winning bidder at the AR auction was Tyler McCune.
