Farmers market meeting
Newcomerstown Library will have an organizational meeting for anyone interested in participating in the farmers market this season. The meeting will be Wednesday, April 11 at 11 a.m. in the Newcomerstown Library Annex.
Country music planned
The Newcomerstown Historical Society is sponsoring an evening of country music on Friday, April 13 at the Olde Main Street Museum and Social Center, Newcomerstown. Doors open at 5 p.m.
The bands will play from 6 to 9 p.m. with a "jam session" to follow. All singers and musicians are welcome to participate.
The featured bands include: Rod Bradford and Friends, Bob and Kathy Rawson's Bluegrass Band, and Hand-Picked Band.
The cost is $3 per person. Refreshments will be available (including hot sandwiches, desserts and drinks). A 50/50 drawing is also planned.
Yellow Flag sales
WEST LAFAYETTE -- The West Lafayette Chamber of Commerce announces the dates for upcoming Yellow Flag Community Yard Sales. Spring dates are May 4 and 5 with the sign-up deadline at Brother's Hardware and Variety Sore on or before April 25 for media maps and April 28 for in-house maps which will be available at various locations in the village.

Newcomerstown Public Library will be having a final beginner's computer class from May 14-18 . The class will run from 1 to 4 p.m. daily. This class is filling up quickly, so if you are interested, call the library to reserve a seat at 498-8228.
Trivia night set
Newcomerstown Public Library will be hosting another trivia night. Gather a group of 2 to 6 adults and come join them for a fun evening on Friday, April 13 at 7 p.m. This time around there will be eight rounds of ten questions to challenge your knowledge. The Friends of the Library will have a concession stand. Contact the library to register your team at 498-8228.
A free workshop on "How to protect your home and savings if you or your loved one end up in a nursing home" will be offered at Newcomerstown Public Library. Discover how to protect your home, how new laws restrict protection of assests, and how Medicaid works. This class will be offered Tuesday. May 1 at 11 a.m. at the Library Annex. More computer classes offered
The Newcomerstown Public Library will be hosting one more basic computer class. The class will take place in the Library Annex on April 16 through April 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. each day. This class is only open to people who have not taken it previously.

Stamp Shoppe class
The Stamp Shoppe is offering a free class on the second Friday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at Melody and Motion School of Performing Arts, 11072 Wolf Station Road, Newcomerstown. In the class, students will learn how to use rubber stamps for card making, scrapbooking and paper crafting. More classes are available at a fee.

It is spring so it must be the Feinstein Challenge to help promote donations of food and money to Journey's End's food pantry. The promotion continues through April 30. All food donated during this period will be counted as a $1 donation per can and that along with cash donations will be counted toward a portion of the Feinstein funds that are sent out to all participating churches and food pantries. Help by donating during this period.
Journey's End Ministries is open to accept food donations on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7 to 11 a.m. and from 2 to 5 p.m.

Library board to meet
Regular meetings of the Newcomerstown Public Library Board of Trustees are the second Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Library Annex.
Projects sought for community service
COPS (Community Outreach Project) is hoping to help Newcomerstown area residents with home repair and maintenance.
Unfortunately, they are not able to do lawn care on a regular basis, but they are looking to help people make minor home repairs in their homes.
They are willing to do inside repairs during the winter months.

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off
Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
