West School fifth grade students were invited to Troy Mozena's property April 27 for a day of Outdoor Education.

Mozena, along with Marsh Zoller, who is the director of the Norma Johnson Center, planned the activities for the day. Students went on a nature hike in the morning and then in the afternoon they traveled to six different stations.

The stations were: Native Ohio Animals, Birds and Beaks, Archeology, Soil Textures, Vernal Pools, and Deerastric Park.

All topics covered reinforced the fifth grade science standards that the students were taught this year.

This is the third year Mozena has hosted the Outdoor Education day.
