The Newcomerstown Elks Lodge and the Newcomerstown Church of the Nazarene will have its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30 at 10 a.m. at Cy Young Park, Newcomerstown.

Easter egg hunt set

PORT WASHINGTON -- Tri-County Auxiliary will sponsor an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. (sharp) at Belden Park, Bremer Street, Port Washington.

The hunt is for ages toddler through 10, and there will be three age divisions: 4 and under, 5 to 8, and 9 to 10.

A special "lucky" egg will be placed in each division and the finder will receive a prize.

Easter cookie/candy sale set

The Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown will have an Easter cookie/candy sale on Saturday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Fellowship Hall.

The price is $6 per pound and you get to make your own selections.

The sale is sponsored by the River Ringers and Cuba Mission Team.

Cemetery flowers

The Newcomerstown Cemetery Department is requesting that all artificial flower arrangements and decorations be removed from gravesites at the village's three cemeteries by April 1.

Spaghetti supper set

Calvary United Methodist Church, corner of State Street and Heller Drive, Newcomerstown, will have its annual spring spaghetti supper on Saturday, April 13 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The meal includes spaghetti with homemade sauce and meatballs, salad, applesauce, bread, beverage and homemade dessert.

The cost for the meal will be $6 for adults and $3.50 for children 4 and over.

Nurses to meet

The Newcomerstown/Coshocton area Nurses Christian Fellowship will meet Monday, March 25 at 6:15 p.m. in the West Lafayette United Methodist Church, 120 W. Union St., West Lafayette. Use the Oak Street entrance.

All RNs LPNs or any allied health professionals are invited to attend. There will be a discussion based on an article from the "Journal of Christian Nursing."

Ridgewood having musical

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Tickets are now on sale for Ridgewood's musical, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

The show is March 21, 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Ridgewood High School's Auditorium.

Blood drive set

A blood drive is set for Wednesday, March 20 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 121 S. College St., Newcomerstown.

Breakfast and dance planned

STONE CREEK -- A pancake and sausage breakfast is set for Saturday, March 23 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Tunnel Hill Community Center, Stone Creek. The will also be serving eggs to order, fruit, toast, coffee cake and drinks. A free-will donation will be accepted.

Later that night, there will be a free square dance lessons from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with Dick Arth as the caller. Arth will be providing taped music for the lessons.

A round and square dance will follow from 8 to 11 p.m. Music will be provided by the Hand Picked Band with Gary Woods calling the square dances. There will be cake walks, door prizes and the kitchen will be open with sandwiches and drinks.

Quilting to resume

Quilting on the Newcomerstown Bicentennial quilt is every Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.

The location has been changed from the Temperance Tavern Museum to the Newcomerstown Library Annex upstairs.

All quilters welcome.

Fish fry fundraiser

The Newcomerstown Bicentennial Committee will have a fish fry on Saturday, March 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Thomas Montgomery American Legion Post on Canal Street.

This will be open to the public.

The menu will be: Fish, French fries, choice of cole slaw or macaroni salad and dessert. Beverages will be extra. The cost for the meal will be $8 for adults and $6 for children 11 and under. The proceeds will go toward the expenses for the 2014 Bicentennial celebration. Advanced tickets are advised, there will be a very limited supply of tickets at the door.

Trivia night set

Newcomerstown Library will be having Spring Fling Trivia Night on Friday, April 5 at 7 p.m.

Feinstein Challenge to start

Journey's End Ministries in Newcomerstown is once again having its annual Feinstein Challenge fundraiser, March 1 through April 30. A portion of all monies raised during this time will be matched by the Feinstein organization.

COSHOCTON -- Applications are now being accepted for gift and craft vendors interested in participating in the 2013 Coshocton Hot Air Balloon Festival. This year's festival, sponsored by Frontier Power, will be June 7-9 at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds.

Craft and gift vendor spaces are available for $50 (10-foot by 10-foot) and $80 (20-foot by10-foot).

Chicken dinner set

Tickets are available for the Cy Young Youth League's chicken dinner set for Saturday, April 27 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Youth League Fields, rear of Neighbor Street, Newcomerstown. The meal will be held rain or shine.

The meal includes half a chicken with potato salad, baked beans, roll, and beverage.

Tickets are $7 each.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
