Dorotha Louise Mizer, 88, of Newcomerstown, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Union Hospital in Dover.

She was born May 11, 1925, in Newcomerstown, to the late Carl and Viola (Atkinson) Black.

She had worked as an aid at Starlite school in New Philadelphia and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Newcomerstown.

On Sunday, Oct. 24, 1948, she married Charles Wayne Mizer, who died Oct. 16, 2006.

She is survived by one daughter, Carol (David) Fockler of Newcomerstown; one son, Mark (Ann) Mizer of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three grandchildren, Emily (Mike) Miller, Matthew (Kathleen) Fockler, Sarah (Matt) Swigert; 10 great-grandchildren, Maggie Miller, Javid Miller, Madeline Fockler, Ethan Swigert, Rebekah Fockler, Luke Fockler, Kortlynn Miller, Andrew Swigert, Evan Swigert, Micah Fockler; two sisters, Twilva Schworm of Westerville and Doris Overholt of Newcomerstown.

Services were Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, in the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, with Pastor Tom Barber and the Rev. Kenneth G. Hacker officiating.

Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown. Graveside services were Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 in the cemetery.
