MOUNT BLANCHARD, Ohio (AP) — A northwest Ohio sheriff's office is investigating a teacher caught on a surveillance camera pushing a kindergartner up against a wall and grabbing him by the face and shirt.
Riverdale Local Schools has suspended the teacher for 10 days after the video was made public last week.
WTOL-TV of Toledo reported Thursday that a sheriff's deputy visited the boy's father a day earlier and has opened an investigation.
The sheriff's office says it could be next week before the investigation is complete and provided to the Hancock County prosecutor.
School superintendent Eric Hoffman tells the station he has apologized to the parents and called the incident unfortunate.
The boy's parents say the teacher should be fired.
