Recovery Fest planned
NEW PHILADELPHIA -- The second annual Recovery Fest is set for Saturday, Sept. 6 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the JIM'S Place, 228 W. High St., New Philadelphia. The event will benefit Sober Recovery. There will be live entertainment, food, raffles, door prizes and lots more. September is the awareness month of sobriety!
The Cy Young Youth League will be raffling off four Cleveland Indians tickets for Sept. 4 (7:05 p.m. start). The game is against the Tigers, sections 151/152, Row F (front row), includes parking pass. This is $286 value. The drawing will be Aug. 23. The tickets are compliments of Stocker Concrete.Tickets are $2 each, three tickets for $5 or seven tickets for $10.

TOPS meets on Tuesdays
TOPS, Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, Chapter 2227, in Newcomerstown, has meetings each Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the lobby of Christ United Methodist Church, Newcomerstown.

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
The meal is free but donations are accepted.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off
Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
