Newcomerstown OHSAA Meeting
The OHSAA required meeting for all fall sports athletes and parents at Newcomerstown entering grades 7-12 will take place Thursday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. at the high school.
Players Needed for ZDGA Amateur
Players are needed for the Zanesville District Golf Association Amateur and Mid-Amateur tournaments, set for Aug. 5-6 and Aug. 12 at EagleSticks, The Virtues and Zanesville Country Club. Round 1 of the 54-hole stroke play events will be played EagleSticks on Aug. 5, Round 2 at the The Virtues on Aug. 6 and the final round on Aug. 12 at Zanesville Country Club. The top 24 scores and ties after two rounds will advanced to ZCC. Interested players must have a verified handicap of 10 or less, and must be a resident or have graduated from a high school in Muskingum, Perry, Morgan, Guernsey, Coshocton, Licking or Noble counties. The cost is $110, which also includes a tee gift. Entry forms can be found at any area golf course or by visiting www.zdga.org. Checks with entry form should be mailed to ZDGA, P.O. Box 2453, Zanesville, 43702; players may also pay via PayPal on the website. The deadline to entry is July 28.
Muskie Chix Softball Tryouts
Muskie Chix Fastpitch Softball will hold tryouts Saturday, Aug. 12 at John Glenn High School. Tryouts for 10U will be from 9-11 a.m.; 12U from 11:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m.; 14U from 1:30-3:30 p.m.; and 16U and 18U from 4-6 p.m. Plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled time to complete registration. WBA Meeting at Cy Young Lanes
The Newcomerstown Women's Bowling Association meeting will take place Monday, Aug. 14 at 6 p.m. at Cy Young Lanes. All women and men in the leagues are invited to attend as well as those individuals wanting to joing. Current bowlers should contact their team captain to verify a spot in the fall leagues. Muskingum Basketball Skills Clinic
The Muskingum University men's basketball team will be hosting an exciting fall basketball skills clinic on Sunday, Sept. 17 from 1-4 p.m. in the Anne C. Steele Center. The Skills Clinic is open to boys and girls grades K-8. The clinic will focus on instructing the fundamental skills of the game of basketball and will include many skill competitions and game opportunities. All skill levels are encouraged to attend. The clinic cost is $30 per child and additional children from the same the household will cost $20. Every child attending the clinic will receive coaching from the Muskingum men's basketball staff and players as well as a Muskingum basketball T-shirt.
