Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
The meal is free but donations are accepted.

MLK Homecoming set
The Martin Luther King Drive (Clow Avenue) Homecoming Committee is sponsoring a chicken barbecue on Saturday, June 12 starting at 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the Touraine Club in Newcomerstown. The barbecue is rain or shine. Montel Collins will be on the grill.
The Salt Creek Inc. bluegrass band, comprised of all local musicians, will be performing at April's Country Kitch'n in Newcomerstown on Friday, June 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. (Bluegrass music will be featured on the first Friday of the month.)
There is a $2 cover charge and patrons can order off the menu.
Chicken dinner set
There will be a chicken dinner, sponsored by Baker's IGA, on Friday, June 18 at Lee Stadium during the Newcomerstown Relay For Life. Meals will be served from 6:30 p.m. until sold out. Meals cost $7 and include half baked chicken, potato salad, baked beans, roll and drink (Pepsi products and water). Tickets are available at Baker's IGA or from any Relay team Pre-sale tickets will be sold until June 7. Meals will be served rain or shine on a first come first served basis until sold out. Chamber's golf outing
WEST LAFAYETTE -- The Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce's annual golf outing will be Wednesday, July 28 at Hickory Flat golf course. Shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. To register a team or to sponsor a hole, call Gary or Janet Chaney at 498-4545.
Ham dinner, strawberry festival set
STONE CREEK -- A fund-raiser is planned at the Tunnel Hill Community Center in Stone Creek. The event includes a ham dinner, strawberry festival and dance on Saturday, June 5.
The dinner, which includes ham, scalloped potatoes or sweet potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls, drink and strawberries with cake or ice cream, will be served from 4 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per person.
The dance will be from 8 to 11 p.m. Admission to the dance is $4 per person.

Quilting classes set
The following quilting classes will be available by the Quilting Bees in the Newcomerstown Library Annex:
June 3: Beginner Quilter class -- The Final Touch, How to put the quilt together and finish it off. They'll go over squaring up blocks, how to set blocks, sashing, putting the quilt together and binding off the quilt. Bring in your blocks and get ready to make a quilt.
Also, every Friday from 9 to 11 a.m., they quilt at the Library Annex; take the elevator to the upstairs room.

Craft show set
There will be a craft show on Saturday, July 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 411 Nugent St. (in the rear), Newcomerstown.
Many area crafters have gotten together to put on this annual craft show during the NERS. Inc. car show and chicken barbecue.
OSU throw raffle
The St. Paul Lutheran Church's Relay For Life team is raffling off an Ohio State Buckeyes throw. Tickets are $1 each or six tickets for $5. Tickets may be purchased at the church or from any member of the church's Relay For Life team. The throw will be awarded June 19.
Sonshine Boxes drop-off
Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
