Jim and Carol Hill, Beagle Club Rd., Newcomerstown, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, May 9.

They were married in the former EUB Church (Calvary United Methodist Church) in Newcomerstown, where they met and are members. Rev. Earl Goodwin performed the May 9, 1959, wedding ceremony. Jim is the son of the late Lamoine and Amanda (Duhamel) Hill, and Carol is the daughter of the late James and Florence (Smith) Wilson, all of Newcomerstown.

The Hills are parents of two children: James Hill II, Uhrichsville, and Diana (Mike) McKee, Fresno. Seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren complete the family.

Carol is a homemaker and Jim retired from Empire Plastics at Newcomerstown in 1999. They enjoy traveling, tent camping in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, and have been modern-wesetrn square dancers for the past 40 years.

A trip to the Smoky Mountains is planned for later.
