Tomas and Carolyn Polk, Whipple, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 16. The occasion was celebrated at a party given by their children, Mark, Lorrie, Kari (Steven Snyder), Michael (Lisa), Neil (Melissa), Deberah (Larry Pettit), and Angela (Scott Kidder) at Di Vinci's in Williamstown, WV. They are grandparents of 11 grandchildren.

Guests attended from South Carolina, Kentucky, Columbus, Newcomerstown, Akron, Arizona, Macksburg, Marietta, Whipple, and Mount Vernon.

Molly Pettit, granddaughter, presented rings to be exchanged. Lloyd Booth, brother-in-law, gave a toast to the honored couple. Also toasting them were their son, Mark and daughter, Deberah. A buffet dinner was served and a slide show was presented by their granddaughter, Danielle McKown.

The Polks both graduated from Newcomerstown High School, Carolyn in 1959 and Tomas in 1958. Carolyn is the daughter of Audrey and the late John Duff of Whipple. Tomas, son of the late Gertrude and Hubert Polk, retired from Bulk Matic.
