Ravin and Geraldine "Jeri" Anderson, 26362 Adams Twp. Rd. 251, Newcomerstown, will be recognizing their 50th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
The couple is hosting an open house at their home on Sunday, Aug. 23, at 12 noon. All family and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of gifts, they request the company of their guests and a covered dish to enjoy a day with several bluegrass bands for entertainment.
The Andersons were married on Aug. 25, 1959, in Virgie, KY, by Pastor Orville Tacket. Ravin is the son of the late Eddie and Ellen Anderson, and Jeri is the daughter of the late Charlie and Delphi Potter.
Their children include one daughter, Ravanna (Dave) Surant of North Carolina, and two sons, Mark (Willa) Anderson of Kentucky, and Rocky (Kathy) Anderson of Newcomerstown. They also have 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ravin retired from Empire Plastics in 2004 after 13 years of service. He enjoys the outdoors, hunting, and playing bluegrass music. Jeri worked at Thompson's IGA before becoming a stay-at-home wife who enjoys gardening and planting flowers. Both are members of the Church of Christ in Christian Union.
