Zentangle Club is being formed at the Newcomerstown Library the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first one will be Oct. 5.
Zentangle is a mehtod for creating beautiful images using repetitive patterns. As a artistic mediation, it supports relation, focus, inspiration, and a sense of well-being.
Judy Sandstead will be leadning the group beginning with the history of Zentanlge and using it as a form of relaxation. Basic tangles will be explored. Teachers are welcome as they may want to incorporate Zentangle into lessons or rewards that stimulate student creative thoughts.
Zentangle requires on a soft lead pencil, a good quality ink-tip black pen (Sakura Micron 01 is recommended) and a 3-1/2-inches by 3-1/2-inches of heavy art paper (80 pounds) called a "tile."
Supplies will be available for purchase but please feel free to bring your own. To begin, young adults or adults are welcome. Sessions for young children may be developed if there is an interest.
