Kearney-Carney reunion being planned

An effort is being made to have a reunion of the descendants of Johnson T. Kearney and Nancy Trimble Kearney. They are buried in Earley's Cemetery in Newcomerstown.

Their children were: John Thomas Kearney, wife Lydia McElhaney; James Luther Carney, wife Sarah Gross; Ann ?, husband Bill Moore; Edith ?, husband Ben ?; William A. Kearney, wife Lena Cox; and Joseph Carney, wife Emma Mizer Everhart Carney Moore.

The event is planned for Aug. 9, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at the Newcomerstown Lion's Den, 347 Church St., Newcomerstown. There is a picnic area so you can come early and eat lunch. Locally, you can enjoy two museums in Newcomerstown. They are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Or, you can take a drive-it yourself historic tour with 36 stops covering 30 miles around the area. Maps are available.

All descendants are welcome to come and get acquainted or re-acquainted, or if you think you may be related come and they will try to figure it out.

This is the first attempt at a reunion. Come and enjoy the fellowship and bring any family history information and/or pictures that you may have.
