Bryan inducted into nursing society

CANTON -- Lindsey Bryan, an RN to SBN major from Newcomerstown, was recently inducted into the Pi Chi chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, International at Malone University.

A total of 25 members were inducted.

Sigma Theta Tau is the only honorary society for nursing and Pi Chi is the chapter at the Malone University School of Nursing.

Owens Community College announces fall academic honors

PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP -- Several area students have been named to the Academic Honors List at Owens Community College for the fall semester 2008.

The local students include: Shay Sheipline of Gnadenhutten, Skilled Trades Building Maintenance; Thomas Sauerbrey of Newcomerstown, Pipefitting/Plumbing Certification; Justin Gano of Newcomerstown, Skilled Trades Building Maintenance; Jennifer Hallmark of Newcomerstown, Skilled Trades Building Maintenance; and Bryan Spring of Newcomerstown, Skilled Trades Building Maintenance.

More than 3,200 students were named to the list. Students must achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for academic honors. Owens uses a 4.0 scale in grading.

Studer, Zehnder on dean's list

CANTON -- Stacy Studer of Newcomerstown and Brianna Zehnder of Stone Creek have been named to the dean's list for the fall 2008 semester at Malone University in Canton.
