The Newcomerstown Historical Society elected officers for the 2009-2010 term during their monthly meeting, May 20, at the Temperance House Museum.
The officers include, Mary Watts, president; Ray McFadden, vice president; Ellen Pickrell, secretary; Don Fenton, treasurer; and Marlene Ross, social events coordinator.
The society has also announced a new cost for touring the museums; adults, $9, children (ages 6 The cost includes admission to each of the three museums, including the Temperance Tavern Museum, Olde Main Street Museum and Social Center and the USS Radford National Naval Museum. Tickets will be available at the front door of the Temperance house. The museum will be open through the summer, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. The museum will close for the remainder of the year on Labor Day.
The gift shop at the Olde Main Street Museum has recently added many new "Newcomerstown-themed" souvenirs for sale. Among the items are key chains, mugs, plates, T-shirts, and several different books about Woody Hayes and OSU.
