COSHOCTON -- A 40-year old West Lafayette man died following a one-vehicle accident in Coshocton County, June 6.

An accident involving a 2000 Toyota Sienna van driven by Matthew S. Lingo was reported at approximately 9:13 p.m. on County Road 16 in Tuscarawas Township.

According to the patrol's Zanesville post, Lingo failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the right side of the roadway.

Lingo reportedly overcorrected the van, which caused the vehicle to travel off the left side of the road and strike a culvert and driveway edge before overturning.

Lingo, who was not wearing a safety restraint, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Coshocton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Coshocton County Coroner Dr. R.D. Gwinn was notified of the crash.

Alcohol was not believed to have been a factor in the accident, which remained under investigation by the highway patrol.
