Mary Swank of Newcomerstown handmade one blanket that will be sent overseas.Blankets to be sent to soldiers serving in Afghanistan Oriental Chapter No. 106, Order of the Eastern Star, had a regular meeting Dec. 7 at the Newcomerstown Masonic Center.Sara Cowman, worthy matron, and Shaine Cowman, worthy patron, presided over the meeting.After a short business meeting, Stanley and Shirley Fish served refreshments in the dining area of the Masonic Center. The officers and members of the Oriental Chapter No. 106 brought blankets to be distributed to the troops that are currently stationed in Afghanistan. The blankets will be given to the District No. 14 Deputy Grand Matron Selena Marrero who is collecting blankets from all of the chapters within the district to send overseas.
