NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Interstate 77 motorists may experience delays this week during nighttime hours at the Stone Creek exit in Tuscarawas County as part of the $2.7 million Route 751 bridge replacement project over the highway.
From 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27 to 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, both north and southbound lanes of I-77 will be rerouted intermittently from the mainline of the interstate via the off and on ramps, while the contractor safely erects new beams for the bridge over the interstate.
Motorists should use an alternate route, if possible, to avoid delays. Officials urge motorists, who do have to travel through this area during this work, to watch for stopped traffic.
ODOT's contractor for this project is Dennison Bridge Inc., from Dennison, and the completion date is June 15, 2011.
