COLUMBUS -- Beau Guilliams, wine maker at Coshocton County's Raven's Glenn Winery, announced that two of their premium wines will be featured at the annual Ohio Grape and Wine Conference in Columbus Feb. 21 and 22. The conference is jointly organized by the Ohio Grape Industries Committee (OGIC) and the Viticulture and Enology Program at OSU and is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Agriculture and the OSU Extension Wooster office.
"Our gold winning Scarlet Raven port style wine will be the featured dessert wine during the banquet dinner. Scarlet Raven is a powerful, rich, port style estate wine with caramel aromas and complex fruit tones," Williams said.
In addition to the port wine, the Raven's Glenn gold metal Barbera will be the featured wine during the conference luncheon. Barbera is an Italian style dry red, medium body wine that best complements rich and hardy foods.
Started in 2004 Raven's Glenn winery is located east of Coshocton on U.S. 36 and is one of Ohio's largest wineries. Additionally Raven's Glenn is one of the few wineries in Ohio that offers a full service restaurant as well as banquet services and is a favorite venue for weddings.
The 2011 Ohio Grape and Wine Conference consists of a wide range of winery and viticulture forums for commercial grape growers and wineries. The conference will be attended by over 100 wineries with guest speakers from many of the notable wine/grape growing regions of the U.S.
