GNADENHUTTEN -- Voters in the Indian Valley Local School District overwhelmingly approved the 3.6-mill renewal tax levy last Tuesday.
Votes for the levy were 752 and votes against the levy were 313, or 71 percent to 29 percent, respectively.
The levy, which is for five years will start being collected in 2012 and will first be due in 2012, is for providing the emergency requirements in the school district. It was not a new tax.
The school district has not asked taxpayers for any new monies for operation since 1992.
