PORT WASHINGTON On Oct. 26, Tuscarawas County Sheriffs Deputies and Detectives from the multicounty LEAD Task Force raided an apartment located at 107 S. St. Clairsville St., Port Washington.
Tuscarawas County Sheriffs Detectives received a tip regarding alleged illegal drug activity at this address and were able to develop the information into a search warrant issued by Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Judge Elizabeth Thomakas. Detectives with the multi-county LEAD Task Force were advised of the information and assisted the Sheriffs Office with the search of the residence.
Items found inside the apartment were two stolen Tuscarawas County road signs, approximately two dozen pieces of drug paraphernalia and numerous unidentified pills. These items were taken into custody by detectives with the pills to be sent to a State of Ohio laboratory to determine if they are controlled narcotics.
A 23-year old male, along with a 21-year old female, who live at the residence were present when the warrant was executed. Both were questioned by detectives and released with charges likely to be filed upon completion of the laboratory analysis. A third resident, who is a 23-year old male, was not home at the time.
