Winners from Tuscarawas County's Got Talent 2012 show are being announced.
Overall winners received placement trophies and bouquets donated by Heaven Scent Floral of Newcomerstown. The first place winner also received a $100 Visa gift card.
Overall winners: First place, Marissa Sulsowitz of New Philadelphia (ballet performance; second place, Richie and Hannah Johns of Uhrichsville (banjo and mandolin performance); and third place, Kellie Young of Newcomerstown (singer).
Vocal category (winners received placement plaques): First place, Kayla Cowdery of Newcomerstown; second place, Aaron Bolek of Dover; and third place, Kylie Butler of Newcomerstown.
Dance category (winners received placement plaques): First place, Melody and Motion's Lyrical Ballet; second place, Melody and Motion's Tap Quartet; and third place, Studio 3's Hip Hop Trio.
Instrument category (winner received plaque): First place, Mya Cole of Newcomerstown.
Crowd Appeal Award (winner received the Komen Pink Star Award): Studio 3's Baton Trio.
This event, is a non-profit event coordinated by Building Bridges 3 Day for the Cure, which raises monies for the Susan G. Komen foundation.
Each year, the crowd grows and they are able to help more people who struggle with breast cancer. The goal is to rid the world of breast cancer! This event spreads well beyond the county, as they have entries yearly from other counties, including but not limited to Coshocton, Stark, and Guernsey counties.
String Theory performed at intermission, as well as opening and closing songs by Cleveland composer, Kevin Foster. The emcee was Chris Lipinski, and judges along with Foster, were Ryan Styer and Richelle Lefler.
The show was in memory of Kimberly Hostetler.
This year's event brought in over $1,600.
