DENNISON -- Harcatus Family Support is well into its 2012-2013 Winter Crisis Program, which officially opened on Nov. 1, along with Community Action Agencies throughout Ohio. To date, Harcatus Family Support Centers of Harrison, Carrollton and Tuscarawas counties have assisted more than 1,100 households with nearly $900,000 in emergency benefits.
The HEAP Winter Crisis program ends March 31, 2013, and assistance may be provided only once per household during the winter heating season. Eligible households must have been either shut off, received a disconnect notice on their gas and/or electric bills, or heat with fuel oil, propane, coal or wood and have less than a 10-day supply or their fuel tank has less than 25 percent capacity.
Qualifying household gross income must be at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines which begins with a previous 12 month maximum of $22,340 for a one-person household.
Add $7,920 for each additional household member.
