Governor John Kasich has made a selection for the Financial Planning and Supervision Commission for the Village of Newcomerstown.
He selected three people out of the group of six that had to be living or working within the community.
The three people he selected with Gary Baker, Baker's IGA; Jeff Staggs, superintendent of Newcomerstown School District; and Dee Stocker, manager of Century National Bank of Newcomerstown.
The committee will be a part of the commission which consist of members of the State Auditor's office, the State Budget Commission, the Mayor of the Village, and President of Village Council.
In October 2012, Dave Yost, auditor of State, put the Village of Newcomerstown in the state of emergency due to the village's finances.
It will be the commission's job to direct the village out of the state of emergency.
The first public meeting will be Monday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the David Barber Civic Center, Newcomerstown.
