DENNISON -- Trinity Hospital Twin City, 189 N. First St., Dennison, is making more physician services available in Newcomerstown.
The hospital owned and operated Trinity Medical Group began offering cardiology and general surgery services at their 232 Cross St., Newcomerstown, location in November 2011. Trinity Medical Group is now offering family practice at the Cross Street office.
Dr. Stuart Brown, DO, began welcoming patients in March.
Dr. Brown is a Board Certified Family practitioner with nearly 20 years experience. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree at Ohio University and completed his residency training at Selby General Hospital in Marietta. He is a lifelong resident of the area, and he and his family reside at Fresno. He is available for appointments at the Newcomerstown office two days a week.
Dr. Brown joins Board Certified Cardiologist, Dr. Mohammad A. Jan, MD, and Board Certified General Surgeon, Dr. Matthew W. Phillips, MD, who welcome patients one day a week at the Newcomerstown office.
"We want to make family medical care and specialty medical care easily accessible for residents of the Newcomerstown area," explained Tiffany Poland, hospital director of Community Outreach and Marketing.
Trinity Hospital Twin City is located within a 20-minute drive of Newcomerstown and because Trinity is a Catholic hospital, care is patient-focused and based on Christian values that concentrate on the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of healthcare.
Reverence, service and stewardship guide the decisions and the relationships the staff have with patients and their families.
"This isn't work to us," said Poland. "This is a ministry."
At Trinity Hospital Twin City, patients can expect more personal attention and an experience that larger health care facilities may find difficult to provide. More than 250 healthcare professionals make the hospital accessible to patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in emergencies as well as for the routine care residents of the community expect.
Local residents who travel to doctors outside of the area can choose to receive most of their healthcare tests at Trinity Hospital Twin City since all test results can be digitally transferred quickly to other medical offices.
State-of-the-art equipment and digital technology make Trinity Hospital Twin City an obvious choice for patients seeking the best care in and around the region. The hospital recently purchased new surgical colonoscopy, bone density and mammography equipment, three important diagnostic tools used to assist physicians. An open bore mobile MRI service is available two days a week for patient convenience and can accommodate patients up to 400 pounds.
Trinity Hospital Twin City offers a variety of medical services that include cardiopulmonary, laboratory and therapy services. Imaging services are available as well as a swing bed skilled rehabilitation program and more.
Physician specialists in cardiology, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat), surgery, podiatry and others are available when patients need specialized attention. "It is our goal to recruit four to eight new physicians in 2013," said Joe Mitchell, hospital president.
Trinity Hospital Twin City also offers sleep lab services, which can help people who suffer from sleep disorders. Trinity can assess individuals with a sleep study and provide little extras like Sleep Number mattresses and breakfast in bed. Sleep studies can be arranged for day or night sleepers.
