NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Wildflowers will be in abundance at the Union Hospital Auxiliary's Tea in the Garden event on Saturday, April 20 starting at noon.
Each year the Auxiliary transforms JIM's Place in New Philadelphia into an inviting springtime garden filled with flowers and greenery for the Tea in the Garden. Guests of this year's Tea will enjoy a delicious lunch catered by Crave This Catering of New Philadelphia at tables decorated with flowers and china from Auxiliary members' personal collections.
JIM'S Place in New Philadelphia is located at 228 W. High Ave. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by calling 330-343-8561. Tickets are sold in advance only. Groups of eight wishing to sit together are encouraged to call early. The reservation deadline is April 10. No tickets will be sold at the door.
"If you're growing weary of winter's persistent grip, we can guarantee that you'll walk away from the Tea in the Garden with a little extra 'spring' in your step," said committee chair Cynthia Dutton of Navarre. "Our lineup of delicious food, entertainment, and springtime ambience is designed to offer our guests an afternoon of fun and relaxation in an inspiring setting that represents the things we all love about the spring season."
Dutton said the guest speaker for the event is Melinda Carmichael from Beech Creek Botanical Gardens in Alliance. A spring fashion show will round out the afternoon, courtesy of Cinzia clothing store of New Philadelphia. Each guest will receive a complimentary teacup and saucer.
Throughout the Tea in the Garden event, guests may bid in the silent auction for a variety of indoor and outdoor decorating items and gifts donated by area businesses and individuals.
