Feinstein fundraising

This is the final week of the fundraising efforts supported by the Feinstein Challenge Foundation.

All donations to Journey's End Ministries in Newcomerstown by the end of April will receive a portion of a million dollar fund provided by the Feinstein Foundation. The need is still great in the area, and they are up 10 percent over last year in offering food and clothing help to the community.

Chicken dinner set

Tickets are available for the Cy Young Youth League's chicken dinner set for Saturday, April 27 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Youth League Fields, rear of Neighbor Street, Newcomerstown. The meal will be held rain or shine. The meal includes half a chicken with potato salad, baked beans, roll, and beverage. Tickets are $7 each. For tickets, contact Ed Gibson at 498-5261.

Pancake/sausage breakfast set

FRESNO -- Renner's St. Paul United Church of Christ, 7620 Renner Road SW, Fresno, will have a pancake/sausage breakfast on Saturday, May 4 from 8 to 11 a.m. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, fruit, and beverage of your choice. Donations to youth camp retreat will be taken.

Concert and

luncheon set

A handbell concert and luncheon is set for Sunday, April 28 at noon in the River of Life Community Center, Christ United Methodist Church, 648 Oak St., Newcomerstown. The cost for the concert for adults is $5, school age children is $3 with a $20 family maximum.

There will also be sandwiches, salads and desserts available. The concert benefits Cuba Missions and River Ringers.

Breakfast, dance planned

STONE CREEK -- A pancake and sausage breakfast is set for Saturday, April 27 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Tunnel Hill Community Center, Stone Creek.

They will be serving pancakes, sausage, eggs to order, fruit, toast, coffee cake, and drinks. A free-will donation is planned.

A round and square dance will follow that night from 8 to 11 p.m. The cost is $5 per person.

Music will be provided by the Hand Picked Band with Gary Woods calling the square dances. There will be cake walks, door prizes, and the kitchen will be open with sandwiches and drinks.

Spaghetti supper set

WEST LAFAYETTE -- The First Baptist Church, located at 688 E. Main St., West Lafayette, will have a spaghetti supper on Friday, May 3 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The cost for the meal for adults is $6 and children (4 and up) are $3.50.

PTO Mother's Day flower sale

West School PTO is having a flower sale as a fundraiser. They will be selling flats of impatiens for $18 (that's 36 flowers per flat.) Color choices include red, white or mixed.

Orders and payment are due Friday, April 26. Make checks payable to West School PTO.

Flowers will be available for pick up at West School on Thursday, May 9 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Just in time for Mother's Day!

Quilting to resume

Quilting on the Newcomerstown Bicentennial quilt is every Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.

The location has been changed from the Temperance Tavern Museum to the Newcomerstown Library Annex upstairs.

All quilters welcome.

Vendors sought

COSHOCTON -- Applications are now being accepted for gift and craft vendors interested in participating in the 2013 Coshocton Hot Air Balloon Festival. This year's festival, sponsored by Frontier Power, will be June 7-9 at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds.

Craft and gift vendor spaces are available for $50 (10-foot by 10-foot) and $80 (20-foot by10-foot).

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
