Pool fundraiser meeting

A community meeting to obtain ideas to raise funds to open the Cy Young Pool in Newcomerstown this year will be Monday, May 13 at 7 p.m. at the West Elementary School.

Approximately $12,000 needs to be raised to open the pool.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Tickets are still available for the Newcomerstown Historical Society's "Museums, Music and Magic" on Saturday, May 25 at 5:30 p.m.

It will be an evening full of entertainment for all ages with three shows in one night.

The shows include a professional magician, the Victory Canteen Singers, and tours of the Temperance Tavern Museum and Olde Main Street Museum and Social Center.

Tickets are $16 each and includes soft drinks and appetizers.

Queen's pageant postponed

Because of conflict with school events, the Cy Young Days Festival queen's pageant, scheduled for May 16, has been postponed.

They will announce a re-scheduled date for early June as soon as possible.

They are also extending the deadline on entries until May 24 because some of the girls did not receive entry forms.

Blood drive set

A blood drive is set for Wednesday, May 22 from 1 to 6 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 121 S. College St., Newcomerstown.

Sub sale planned

COSHOCTON -- The Mentoring Center of Coshocton County is hosting a sub sale on Friday, June 7 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The meal includes: Sub (choice of Italian, turkey or ham), macaroni salad, potato salad or potato chips, cookie and drink. The cost is $8 per meal.

The center is locate at 410 Main St., Second Floor, Coshocton.

Carry-out or eat-in.

All proceeds support Mentoring programs for children, teens, and families throughout Coshocton County.

Vendors sought

COSHOCTON -- Applications are now being accepted for gift and craft vendors interested in participating in the 2013 Coshocton Hot Air Balloon Festival. This year's festival, sponsored by Frontier Power, will be June 7-9 at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds.

Craft and gift vendor spaces are available for $50 (10-foot by 10-foot) and $80 (20-foot by10-foot).

Christ's Kitchen

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
