Century National Bank's Board of Directors approved the promotion of Patrick L. Nash, current president, to president and Chief Executive Officer effective May 1.
Thomas M. Lyall, who had served as CEO since 1998, will remain chairman of the Board and William A. Phillips will remain chairman of the Board's Executive Committee.
Dan DeLawder, chairman and CEO, Park National Corporation, offered sincere gratitude to Tom Lyall for his leadership of Century since 1998.
According to DeLawder, "Tom has been the 'dean' of our affiliate leadership group for a number of years, and his colleagues at Century and within the Park organization have benefitted from his strong leadership, insight and enthusiasm for providing extraordinary service."
DeLawder also was very complimentary of the planning and preparation leading up to the successful transition that allows Pat Nash to take the helm at Century.
"Like Bill Phillips before him, Tom learned the best way to plan for a transfer of responsibility is to work closely with his successor and, importantly, be willing to remain engaged for a few more years to serve as a resource to Pat and an asset to the bank and the corporation. This is yet another example of why Century National is such a great bank within the Park company," DeLawder said.
Nash began his career at Century National Bank as a Management
He later managed both the North and South Banking Centers before being promoted to vice president and Commercial Lender in 1997.
Nash was named a senior vice president in 1999 and relocated to Athens as the president of the Southern Division.
In 2003, he returned to Zanesville as the Retail Senior vice president and Commercial Lender, with responsibilities for all banking centers.
He was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2007, with primary responsibilities in Commercial Lending. In 2011, Nash was elevated to president of the Bank.
Nash's education includes Bishop Rosecrans High School, Muskingum University, the Stonier School of Banking and Ohio Banker's League Commercial Graduate School. Currently, he serves as a board member for the following organizations: the Muskingum Family Y, the Muskingum County Community Foundation, Bishop Rosecrans Foundation, and on the Genesis Pro-Am Committee. Pat also serves as the chairman of the Board of the Good Samaritan Medical Center.
Nash resides in Zanesville with his wife, Melissa, and their two children, Jessica and Jack.
