Chicken barbecue set

BAKERSVILLE -- The Bakersville Volunteer Fire Department will have a chicken barbecue and antique tractor pull on Saturday, June 15 at the Bakersville Community Park, Route 751, Bakersville.

The tractor pull starts at 6 p.m.

Food will be served at 4 p.m.

The menu includes half a chicken, applesauce, potato salad, roll, drink and dessert.

Prices for the meals are $8 for adults, $5 for children, and a half chicken is also $5.

Farmers market planned

During the weekend of the Cy Young festival, the Newcomerstown Library will be having a farmers market all three days in the library parking lot.

Also, on that Friday, the Friends of the Library will be having a book sale, and selling hamburgers and hot dogs and the library will be having a used equipment sale.

The equipment will include a few computers and some furniture and miscellaneous items.

Retiree luncheon set

Kurz-Kasch will have a retiree luncheon on Wednesday, June 12 at 11:30 a.m. at April's Country Kitch'n in Newcomerstown.

Christ's Kitchen

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

The meal is free but donations are accepted.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
