Church to have Vacation Bible School
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Newcomerstown (121 S. College St.) will be having Vacation Bible School July 8-12 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The theme this year is SonWest Roundup directed by Tracy Brown. At SonWest Roundup, there will be food, games, music, crafts -- and amazing true stories that point your kids to Jesus!
They'll be travelling down the trail through the Old Testament stories of Moses to discover God's Ultimate plan of salvation in Jesus. So, saddle up and get on over to SonWest Roundup!
You can register by calling the church at 498-6682 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon or during Vacation Bible School hours.
Church announces upcoming events
The Christ United Methodist Church, 648 Oak St., Newcomerstown, has announced the following community events:
Vacation Bible School will be the week of June 24 through June 28 from 9 a.m. to noon. The program this year will be: "Athens: Paul's Dangerous Journey to Share the Truth." To register, call 498-8314, Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The annual chicken barbecue and carnival will be Thursday, June 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. The dinner includes half a chicken, baked beans, slaw or applesauce, roll, beverage and dessert. The cost is $7. There will also be hot dogs, drinks and lots of games, including blow ups, face painting and more. Proceeds to benefit the mission team.
Celebration in the country
FRESNO -- Renner's St. Paul United Church of Christ will have an outdoor gathering on June 29.
There will be games, fellowship, and food from 6 to 7 p.m.
The menu includes: Grilled hot dogs, coneys, sloppy joes, chips, cookies and a beverage.
At 7 p.m., relax and listen to guest musical performers. The performers include High Country Bluegrass Gospel Singers and vocalist Kathy Stevens.
From Route 36, go 6.5-miles north on County Road 93. From Baltic, take Route 93 south, turn left on County Road 88, then turn right on Renner Road.
Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket. In case of rain, activities will be moved inside.
Community dinner planned
Journey's End Ministries will have a community dinner on June 20 from 6 to 7 p.m. at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church.
Bring your family, friends and neighbors for a free dinner.
