Things are coming together for the Cy Young Days Festival this year! Here is a sneak peek at the schedule.

Friday, June 21 will start off with the Hit-A-Thon at the Cy Young Youth League fields off Neighbor Street starting at 4 p.m. and sponsored by Century National Bank.

A talent show will take place at 7 p.m., sponsored by Mike's Body Shop, on the Canal Street Stage. At 9 p.m., the band Zen Cowboys will be entertaining.

The Cy Young Run, sponsored by the Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce, Newcomerstown Track Team and Newcomerstown Cross Country team, will kick-off the Saturday, June 22 events at the Cy Young Days Festival. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at Cy Young Park in Newcomerstown. The two-mile run begins at 8 a.m. the four-mile begins at 8:30 a.m. and a one-mile run for ages 10 and under will start at 8 a.m.

At noon, they will enjoy lunch with Mike McCormick at the Laborers Local Union Hall on the Corner of River and Main streets.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children under the age of 12. Tickets must be reserved in advance, so call 498-4545 to reserve seats now.

The parade, sponsored by Bakers IGA, will line up beginning at 5 p.m. at the Newcomerstown High School on Oak and Beaver Streets. Enter Beaver Street from State Street, if you are participating in the parade.

The Parade moves at 6 p.m. with Cy Young Award winner and former San Francisco Giant Mike McCormick as the Grand Parade Marshal. McCormick will be at the Olde Main Street Museum on Canal Street to sign autographs following the parade.

At approximately 7:15 p.m., they will have the basket auction.

They have Amish made baskets, 10 will be numbered and there will be a limited number of baskets without numbers for sale. The number 1 basket will be the only one autographed by Mike McCormick.

At 7:30 p.m., the New Towne Cloggers will entertain on Canal Street

At 9 p.m., the band Sneeky Peek will take the stage, the auction and band will both be on Canal Street.

Dennis Regling, the "Balloon Man" will be on hand to entertain, sponsored by Addy Funeral Home and Shaw Wilbert Vaults.

On Sunday, the car show will get under way. Registration is from 1 to 3 p.m. and awards are given at 5 p.m. The car show is being sponsored by Medi-Wise Pharmacy and Dunning Motors. The car show DJ "Spikeman" is sponsored by Dan Lahmers State Farm Insurance.

A cornhole tournament will take place in the square on Main Street beginning at 1 p.m.

The Feed Barn, Marstrell Auto, KL Welch & Sons, The Power Shop and Kuester Implement Co. have combined to sponsor the Buckeye Pedal Tractor Pull. Registration for this state sanctioned event will begin at 1 p.m. and the pull will start at 2 p.m.

At 4 p.m., bring your furry, feathered, scaly or other friend to Canal Street for the pet show, sponsored by Bliss Veterinary Service. It is always a very interesting and fun time; registration starts at 3:30 p.m.
