Dress-A-Child 2013 has begun.

Local registration date for this year's program is Monday, July 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Francis DeSales Church, Newcomerstown.

Dress-A-Child serves children from kindergarten through twelfth grade attending Tuscarawas County schools. Children must be entering kindergarten in the fall. Dress-A-Child will provide new school clothing for those who qualify through the registration process.

Those wishing to register may do so at any site (which includes Dover, Twin Cities and New Philadelphia).

Items required at registration include valid photo ID, income statements for the household, and documentation showing legal dependents for whom the registrant will be shopping. No telephone registrants will be accepted.

Shopping days will be Aug. 3-9.

Dress-A-Child continues to operate solely by volunteers. Approximately 30 volunteers are required during registration and shopping.

Anyone interested in volunteering for either registration or shopping dates may call Brenda Jenkins at 330-343-4569 or Becky Mastin at 330-634-1684.

Funding for the new school clothing provided comes directly from individuals and businesses in Tuscarawas County.

Dress-A-Child continues to benefit from a directed grant from the Tuscarawas County Community Foundation as well. Last year, 1,441 children were served through Dress-A-Child. The 2012 voucher amount was $75 per child.
