NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Leadership Tuscarawas is pleased to announce the class of 2013-2014.

The Retreat was held at Atwood Lake Resort and Golf Club. The class was welcomed by Leadership Tuscarawas President Milo Miller and Executive Director Lynn Angelozzi. Facilitators Rich and Cathy Geib, Geib & Associates, led the class by sharing the learning philosophy for the nine month course -- connecting personal growth with leadership development and team-building.

The day and a half retreat challenged the participants with a Values in Action Character Strengths Assessment and a Kolb Learning Styles Inventory Assessment. Self-awareness and teamwork were the theme of day one. On Day 2 the class explored their commitment to serve Tuscarawas County, find the sweet spot of the motivated capabilities and built an energized personal vision.

Mark Murphy, Superintendent Tusky Valley Schools, addressed the class on "Serving the Community." He shared his experience in being governed by a board and as serving on the New Pointe Church Board of Directors.

The Mission of Leadership Tuscarawas is to develop passionate, visionary leaders to strengthen the community. Now entering its twelfth year, the program is designed to improve the quality of life in Tuscarawas County by identifying and developing community leaders, preparing them to assume greater leadership roles and promoting and facilitating their involvement in initiatives that will shape the area's future.
